Any Colourbox fans? I had been aware of them for a while, but last week I happened upon a copy of their "Breakdown" EP. And my God, I can't stop playing it- it's simply amazing. Definitely some of the best synthpop I've ever heard.

Tue, October 4, 2005 - 12:28 PMI really loved their track on "Lonely is an Eyesore"...blanking on its name but it was a nice change from the somber seriousness of most of the tracks...Got one of their EP's. Their remake of "Tarantula" was pretty cool, but didn't impress me as much as - okay, I looked it up, "Hot Doggie".
"Breakdown", eh? Have to check it out. -

Thu, May 11, 2006 - 7:00 AMI've got CAD508 the debut album. It has it's moments. 'Just Give 'em Whiskey' & 'Edit the Dragon' are total genius. The rest of the album is fairly average vinyl filler. 'The Unoffical World Cup theme' still makes me laugh though. Not that I've dug it out for a while. Maybe soon, it's a damn sight better than that bloody 'bling bling' frog! -

Fri, June 9, 2006 - 6:29 PMI love some of Colourbox's spaghetti western stuff, like Just Give 'Em Whiskey & Looks Like We're Shy One Horse. Real atmospheric stuff to rival Ennio Morricone. But then I love it when they pull out all the stops & go all house on you, like the Unofficial World Cup Theme. Such a larf. And then you get Lorita Grahame going all Diana Ross on The Moon is Blue and Keep Me Hanging On (literally). I even kind of like Say You, although if it had been anyone but Lorita singing, I don't think I would.
